Maintenance and Care

The remaining work in the plantation Boca Chica will continue to be done by PanOvejas. We cancelled our cooperation with BARCA as at the end of October 2019.

The soil in San Juan is mainly poor, with few nutrients and too much salt. Lot D (finca 1460), planted in 2004, was mostly cov-ered with thin and crooked trees so that it was not worth while maintaining them. (EnR, 2013-2015)

In January 2014, we harvested the few trees that we could sell and sold the land. (EnR, 2013-2015)

The Italian-Panamanian Greenpower S.A. started to build a solar field on 20 hectares. The plant is expected to connect to the grid with 10 mega watt in May 2015. (EnR, 2013-2015)

Lot A in Agua Fría, reacting well to the 2013 thinning (CoR, 2014-Nov)

Extraordinary tree with over 40 cm trunk diameter in Lote A in Agua Fría (CoR, 2014-Nov)

High undergrowth in Lote G in Cañazas. In the thinned teak forest a speciose growth has established itself. (CoR, 2014-Nov)

The re-measurement of over 30 random-sample areas in November 2014 shows good growth reaction to the thinning at the beginning of 203 (here in Cañazas and in general). (CoR, 2014-Nov)

Good growth in Lote C in Boca Chica and in general in the average and best areas of this plantation in Chiriquí. The average trunk diameter is over 20 cm. (CoR, 2014-Nov)

A below-average hole in Lote B in Tortí. Various parts show few trees with average growth. (CoR, 2014-Nov)
